Re: New owner 2 Ball Pythons, my setup, and some questions
Ok thanks!
They do each have their own hides on the hot side, a small rock for the small snake and a large for the large, and there is a nice large half log on the left cool side. The large snake cannot get into the small rock, and the small snake does actually go in the large rock with the large snake sometimes. it stays the same temp in there, and they don't seem to mind sharing when they do, but I will be looking into getting 2 separate PVC tanks after the holidays.
Also, I was pretty sure the red light would be ok, that's why I bought it lol.

Re: New owner 2 Ball Pythons, my setup, and some questions
My main concern here is the two living together. Others have succeeded in doing it but I'd just stick to one animal per tank. Also if you can, I'd HIGHLY recommend switching them over to tubs, possibly even a rack system if you choose. It gives them a nice snug enclosure. Humidity won't be a problem, more or less it'll be higher than what's needed. Which is better than it being lower. You should probably get a temp gun. Those are precise and saves you money, all you'll need is a hygrometer for each tank if you have the temp gun. Get a scale as well to see how big they really are. I wish you luck!!

I do have a temp gun, a no contact temp reader for reptiles (It was like $30 at the pet store). I have seen and read on rack/tub systems...But I don't really like the idea personally...I am going to be looking into getting them separate enclosures though.

Oops, we posted at the same time. Yeah PVC cages are good too, I'm switching my male over to one this week. I'd also recommend you switch out the half log hides. Those don't provide the security they really need.

Awesome! Yeah some people don't like tubs but it's efficient. PVC cages work just fine! Good luck on your two new wicked beauties!
