Well, sorry for your loss again. The possibility of the snake having died of IBD is a long shot. The most important thing to do when getting a pet is preparation. That means having the essentials for the maintenance and requirements for proper care. This is very sad but it's a wake up call for everyone who is a keeper of a pet. They will eventually need veterinary care and they deserve the chance to have the professional services afforded to them. You have a responsibility to them.
