Help! No interest in breeding!

Thankyou for the response really useful, didn't know that about the shed interesting. Yeah the male just had a shed normally the female does a week or two after... The male has missed 3meals so not sure if this is for any reason whereas the female is eating a medium rat every 7days.. Temps & humidity all good ranges. But possibility I've missed a lock maybe but not sure as do check every few hours

Mm not sure how to double check that, they were both bred by GeneticGems at the time and they guaranteed the sex but who knows ay.. if I knew how to probed I'd double check to 100% confirm myself but don't wanna risk injury

If your male is just stubborn and doesn't seem interested you can just put him with another male for 10-15 mintues to get him more interested. You could also put another male's shed in with your breeder male.

Do you know another person who can provide a fresh shed from a male? ...

This is interesting. The basic premise being to make the animal aware of competition. Works with other species too, including humans

Could you comment on employing the reverse, i.e. if the female doesn't seem interested put her with another female for 10-15 minutes &/or put another female's shed in with her. Thanks!

I would also double-check their sexes to make sure you don't have two males or two females.

It's very early, most of my males aren't breeding yet. Be patient and keep trying every other week or so.

a 2100 grams 4 years old male is quite big I would definitely re-sex it and if it is a male hopefully he is well proportionate and not fat, fat males has low interest in breeding.

My female first picture, male in second he was about to shed so looks dull.. But doesn't look overweight think he's 2100g as he is rather long... but he's recently gone on hunger strike as of 3weeks ago but I'm trying him today with a medium rat

I would give him time; as was pointed out, it's still early in the season. I started pairing last weekend since we had a strong low pressure system blow through so I figured I'd take advantage. Got two locks and caught one courting this morning. The rest - even the proven breeder males - are on opposite sides of the tub from the female.

It's still super early. temps in most places are just now getting cool enough all day round to really spur breeding. But if that's a male its a big ole boy, the thing to remember too is that the female while she may be old enough and big enough she my not be sexually mature. I've had females be to weight for 3+ years and not produce clutch's. Breeding aint as easy as microwave popcorn, just give them some time.
