    Axolotl do not go on land unless they are in dire need and morph into thier terrestrial form. He will still be fully aquatic. The land area is strictly for me. I wanted a tank with some interest with waterfalls and plants so I got this high tank for show purposes. Axolotl stick mostly to the bottom so the ten inches of water depth will be more than enough as it is the surface area of the bottom rather than the pure gallons that gives them room to roam.

    These are great little critters and very easy to keep as long as you keep the current low and the water cool.
