Not all antibiotics are equal and they are not prescribed based on popularity but based on the type of RI you are dealing with can only be determine by a culture.
No one here is a vet, no one has examined your animal and recommending a specific anti-biotic or it's dosage could be considered a dangerous advice so do yourself a favor find a good vet get a culture and the proper antibiotic.
