April has a good comment here, and I think you've explained the roundness.

As Gus Rentfro used to say, "It is almost impossible to under feed a boa constrictor, but entirely too easy to over feed one".

I think you have a good interval for feeding with the 1 to 1.5 month stretches. I large rat or rabbit is plenty for that guy. Your success IMO is because you are stretching out those feedings. That boy can easily sustain himself on minimal food for another 17 years IMO.

I follow Vin Russo and Gus when it comes to setting up seasonal changes, and rarely feed from November to late March.

You have a nice snake there that will be around for a lot longer.

As others have said and I agree, it is neat to see you've been the care taker of him for so long.

Well done and don't keep this guy in hiding, show him off a bit more in pictures when you can.
Thanks gio. After a month or more he really isn't this big plus he might take a huge dump soon. But based on what people are saying i think i'm gonna restructure his feeding scheduled some what. Now just cause ive kept him alive for this long doesn't mean i'm an expert so i'm always willing to take advise. Plus if i feed him less that's fine with me cause ill save rats in turn saving money. And yeah ill try to take more pics. I wish i handled him more but i consider myself a fairly busy person. I figure i should take some pics of him a month or more after he's fed last to try to show what he looks like then.

She just had her last meal oct 29th and won't be fed again til March. I would say two jumbo rats is way too much fat for a boa even one is pretty fatty. Guinea pigs are the same really. Rabbits are actually leaner.

Always nice to see older boas! I except my girl to be around for at least another 13 I had blood work done on her just to see how she was doing so far. She was super normal according to the vet and looked great! If you are worried about how you are feeding it might be worth it to go in and see if there are any indicators of fatty liver or other problems. He looks great though
Thanks chip. Honestly i figure why not. I think for now anyway i can at least go from 2 jumbos a month or more to like 1 jumbo every month. And he could use a vet visit mainly just for a check up. What sucks is i live in the south of chicago it has no reptile vets and whats even saltier is there's a vet like 5 mins from us but they don't do reptiles. We got to got way up in the north side for a reptile vet. Now this isn't a problem and i'm not giving excuses i've been there before i'm just informing the community how kinda sucky things are for reptile owners in the south side of chicago. Thanks for showing yours and again thanks for the advise and best wishes that yours lives much longer.
