First Hot
I don't have any at the moment, but I've decided what I want to get, the only thing left to decide is my price range which will determine the color. I'm curious to see what some people think I'm getting before I actually state what I plan on getting. This is likely a month or two down the road, possibly longer depending on when I'll be able to attend a show what has venomous and that's assuming they have what I want.
So, what do you guys think my first hot will be?
-Venomous-
1.0 - Naja siamensis - Zeus (Black & White Spitting Cobra)
1.0 - Naja n. woodi - Hades (Black Spitting Cobra)
0.1 - Naja nigricollis - Athena (Black-necked Spitting Cobra)
coming at some point in the future
Naja annulata (Ringed Water Cobra)

I'm not very familiar with the venomous stuff but since you mentioned colours (which I'm assuming refers to morphs) I'm gonna say either a western diamondback or a monacled cobra

Wel that's a surprise! I'm really curious and excited for you. I'm not up on hots at all, but considering you don't have the run of the mill stuff, I'll bet it will be cool looking.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
1.2 Coastal Carpet Pythons
Mack The Knife, 2013
Lizzy, 2010
Etta, 2013
1.1 Jungle Carpet Pythons
Esmarelda , 2014
Sundance, 2012
2.0 Common BI Boas, Punch, 2005; Butch, age?
0.1 Normal Ball Python, Elvira, 2001
0.1 Olive (Aussie) Python, Olivia, 2017
Please excuse the spelling in my posts. Auto-Correct is my worst enema.

Awesome guess, but no. The snake literally comes in red, blue, black, olive, green, orange and so on. Lol

I figured it would be. Great guess though. I'm going to wait to find one at a show to avoid having to pay Delta dash. I'm not sure how expensive it is, but I'm sure it's pricey

. I was really getting ready to type in "eyelash viper" but you gave the answer away so quickly.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

Re: First Hot
Best squam selection come around June when people get fresh off the boat imports. My wife and i are constantly searching for our first squam. Wouldn't call it a starter species - just monitor its conditions closely and never underestimate their strike range from a perch. Can be nasty far. A lot of people kill their first squams if they get a fresh import baby. Best bet is to try and get an established adult.
Good luck! Venoms not horrible and the few bites I've read didnt take SAIMR or Africa polyvalent to correct.
