Re: My first ball python Iria
Wow, kudos to you for helping out a gorgeous bp. Was she born with only one eye? How are you heating and regulating the enclosure?
Stay in peace and not pieces.

She's gorgeous, I don't see many one eyed BP's. If I had a BP with only one eye I would name it Alastor

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Re: My first ball python Iria
Oh, ok. Thanks. I would consider ditching the reptile carpet at least for now bc they are a collector for extra bacteria in the enclosure. Even though they are aesthetically pleasing, it's better that you get a good look at any potential issues with your new snake. Paper towels is a very good way to monitor a new snakes health or unprinted or even printed newspaper. Just a heads up.

Re: My first ball python Iria
I think Iria is perfect she's so stinkin cute.
Albert is right, the reptile carpet is a pain to keep clean, but they are machine washable if you really like them. They'd just have to be washed after every poop and urate. I like ecoearth, personally, for its ability to hold moisture for humidity. I just have to feed on paper towels to avoid substrate ingestion.

I would get something to clutter the tank up. You can use crumpled up newspaper/paper towels or if you want something better looking, some of those fake plants.
