Taking Arboreal Fun to Another Level
Esmarelda thought her first small two rats were appetizers, she flew out the door for the main course. 
No problem just lifting her and placing her back in the cage. I found that when all the others have done this they are so focused on the bite and wrap they could care less.
Once she finishes off the rest of this pack and the next, I will switch her to two small mediums or one large medium rat.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Nice! And very natural. I have seen the same with some of my ball pythons. Even the hatchlings when they pop out of that tub for the rat. Lol.

Yes it is really satisfying when a BP does it!
I was a bit surprised that Esmarelda only did this on the THIRD rat though and not the first or second.

There are so many photos of them hanging out of gutters and sheds in their natural habitat that it only seems natural to see it at home.

Yingarna the Bredli and Bruce the JCP often feed hanging down from their perches. I haven't had either one come flying out...yet, but on feeding night last week Bruce was using the door lock for a support and would have fallen out if I'd opened the door suddenly.

That's funny Reinz- I had that happen for the first time last week with one of my bull snakes. I thought he would have let go of the prey item but he held on while I put him back in his enclosure.

Manasa did that once, except I had to half catch her, as she didn't leave enough of herself in the tank to stay put

My cornsnake has done that a couple of times, and also off the edge of his ledge. I love to watch that! Starbuck is pale and patternless (lavender blood-red morph), so his musculature really stands out.
Such beautiful animals.

My bp has done that a few times. She also seems to think that I keep her Jumbo mice in my ear going by how determined to get in she was.
