Wanting to breed, what would be best to add to our collection?

We currently have a male pied, a male normal, and a male blue eyed lucy (Lesser Mojave, no yellowing or markers). I would like to add a vanilla bee just because I find them beautiful.

What would be a good female morph options to breed with one of our boys? I have done so basic looking around on morph lists but there are so many we are a bit overwhelmed!

What do you like? You mentioned Vanilla Bees. What else?

Also, if you're serious about getting into breeding, you are VERY male heavy right now. A single male can comfortably be paired with 3-4 females each year, so right now you've got enough males to pair with 6-8 females (I don't count the normal male). Whatever direction you go, make sure it's in females for awhile.

Yea the large male collection was accidental. We have a friend who has a female butter we plan to breed the Lucy with when she's larger.

Honestly I love pieds, and honestly anything with a high white content or white sides and was thinking of some kind of a pied morph maybe. I also love high yellow and black snakes so I'm thinking of trying to breed something with the vanilla bee once we get her.

I would breed the pied male with what ever morph female you get. That way you can make some nice pied combinations in the future. Or you could take a shorter route and buy female morphs het for pied. I agree with what everyone else is saying buy your females now and limit the amount of males you have.

I'd definitely take advantage of the pied. That's a recessive gene that just never gets old. Apparently it's still one of the highest selling BP's.

Maybe I should heed my own words and invest in a pied lol

Would it be worth it to get a pied female of some kind or just stick with the male (because trust me I would always welcome another pied or twelve into the house)

I don't think you can go wrong with pied combos.

I would think that you could get a morph female of your liking that is 100%het for pied. That would increase you genetic makeup and still allow you to make some pieds and pied combos. Everyone makes pieds and pastel pieds. Maybe look at other genes to have something a little less common. Just do your research and buy from someone with a good reputation so you can be certain of the het.
