Worried about BP weight
Hey guys, I'm new here!
I wanted to ask some fellow BP owners a question.
I brought home a "5 month old" BP back in February. When I brought him home, I looked it up because he was very small. He was 80g when I got him, which is about the weight of a 2 month old. Now he's 215 grams. I feed him every Tuesday and he's never refused a meal, but I still feel like he's too small. He's healthy, he's plump, and very friendly, so I don't think anything is wrong.
But I would like to get some opinions on his weight. Is it normal for him so be so small?

It's not normal. He should weigh a lot more than that at 14 months old. What are you feeding him?

I was feeding him small fuzzy rats but just moved him up to large fuzzies.

Interesting. That snake should be eating larger than fuzzies. I'd bump your prey size. Start feeding rat pups and see what happens.

Re: Worried about BP weight
215 grams should def be on 40ish gram rat pups... sounds like the person you bought him from maybe got the hatch date wrong. Because honestly, I don't see how an 80 gram "5 month old" could be healthy or even alive for that matter. My 7 week old Mojave weighs twice that.

Yeah I didn't think it was right either. I thought he must've been much younger.
