Pet vs Baby Owning
Just was amused.
The way we talk about getting pets, diagnosing problems and what-not is 100% comparable to conversations over babies apparently.
Not the topic, I mean. Just HOW it's discussed.
My old boss just had a baby, and is breast feeding. She asked her facebook if anyone had any idea why the baby isn't latching. "How's the temperature? Is this like this? Are you doing this? No that won't work because 'blah.'" Stuff like that.

Of course it's comparable. Both groups are 100% responsible for a life. Pet or person, there are going to be similarities - especially in the early part of a child's life when the new family is learning how to communicate with each other (coming from a first time dad of a nearly 6 month old).

Honestly most passions are the same. If you were passionate about owning Jeeps, you'd be posting about your latest Jeep and how the wheels seem to get wobbly at a certain speed, or how often regular maintenance should be done, etc. And even though to US, it would seem that comparing the care and love of a motor vehicle to owning a living pet is ludicrous... you'd better not say it to a Jeep lover! LOL.
