Re: Does companies on Morph market ship to Japan?

Export shipments are logistically difficult and also expensive. The $1000+ prices quoted here are accurate, and just cover basic shipping, duties and permits, not the animal itself.

Even if you are just looking to move a pet animal for a relocation, the fees and expenses are the same. No easy or economical way around that.

Re: Does companies on Morph market ship to Japan?

Thanks a lot for all the replies, u guys are awesome. So it seems like it gets very expensive and since im not planning to buy a whole bunch it wouldn't be worth it because of all the fees and shipping cost.

I wonder if it would be the same if I bought it from nearby Asian countries if they even have pets. Korea and Hong Kong are a lot closer than the us and Canada but even then Id be very wary of buying anything from other Asian countries. Sorry just ranting out loud.

Red face Re: Does companies on Morph market ship to Japan?

    こんにちは。
As I too live in Japan I was in your position as well about one year ago. Then I did my research and the result turned out fine.
Actually my first ball was a banana male I bought for roughly 400 dollars. And it really felt like a good deal here in Japan.

I would suggest you check out some reptile shop/ball python breeder blogs and ask around about the specific morph you are looking for. In my experience it takes a little more looking around in Japan, but you'll get there in the end.
As for the 'American import' issue, most ball pythons sold in Japan are still US imports. Many shops connect their orders follow a routine of purchasing in bulk. There are places that, for a handling fee, will let you take part in the bulk order.
Also, I don't know where in Japan you live, but quite a few reptile shows going on, ball python breeding is becoming more popular in Japan and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for with a bit of effort

    cheers
    Rob

PS: this being my first post after leeching off this forum's knowledge, please let me thank you guys for solving all my husbandry related issues without requiring me to even post a single line.

These guys have already said what I was going to. People in Canada had the same issue for years where the shipping was 2 or 3x's the cost of the animals. It's just not worth it to buy one or two snakes unless they have a heavy price tag with them. And the fact that its getting to be winter in the Northern hemisphere shipping is fixing to become hit and miss.
