Exclamation Ball Python Not Drinking, I'm worried

Wrinkles on ball python: Dehydration. Sammy when he got here was wrinkle free, but about a week ago I noticed he has wrinkles on him, they're getting worse by the week. I have 2 things in mind that might be the reason why he's not drinking. His temps are perfect, so I believe it's the heat pad or the water bowl. The pad is way too large, covers more than half the tub. The waterbowl is one of those water/hide combo, so I think he misinterprets that for a hide besides a water bowl. He has been using the combo as a hide lately, so I'm gonna fix up his heat pad and his water bowl. Your thoughts are appreciated!

Ball Python Not Drinking, I'm worried

What kind of enclosure?... I haven't ever had this issue, but at this point, I'd probably try soaking him for a few minutes in a new STANDALONE water bowl in his tub to familiarize him with it.

Wrinkles on a ball python: also an early sign of an impending shed.

How do you know he doesn't drink at all? Security camera on his enclosure?

He is in a 15qt tub, I'll go to the pet shop to get a new water bowl for him.

It's certainly a possibility , maybe not a certainty that it's going into shed .... as someone else mentioned ... wrinkles CAN also be a sign of dehydration .

Any chance of a quick photo ??

I will as soon as he's out of shed, don't want to bug the little guy.

The only reason I didn't say he's probably in shed is because you said the wrinkles were getting worse "week after week." ... glad to hear it's just a shed.

So is he 100% in shed or are you assuming he is in shed because of what the guy suggested he may be in shed ???

Thank you for respecting your snake's needs! It's refreshing after reading some other posts around here who don't recognize that leaving them alone is a good thing when needed.
