There's a fine line between future proofing and immediate needs with racks. How large are your snakes currently? Are you dealing with hatchlings now? When is your first breeding season going to be? These are just a few things to consider. My go to racks are 28qt tub racks. I find that sub adults and males can be housed in them quite well. You could use them for young snakes too if you clutter them up, which is what I do. Some keepers offer hides, some don't. It's personal taste I suppose. I tend to have hides for them. As an aside, the 28qt tub in my experience has been great for females after laying if they don't go back on feed. I put them in there and they are eating again in short order. They like the confined space and feel comfortable, despite seeming cramped. For larger females I use 41qt tubs. Of course these tubs are for my snakes that are not in display cages. Hope that helps.
