    Breeding balls is not for the impatient, that's for sure. You have plenty of time between putting the two together and having the first baby ready to find a new home. But if you're really selective and make sure the animals are healthy and up to size, it can be very rewarding.

    My guess based on the picture I see (I do prefer seeing animals in person usually) and I hate making guesses prior to shed also because as you know pre-shed and post shed animals look very different.
