Hello all. I have a some questions for anyone who may be working with or has experience with the Bongo gene
Today I was looking at various Bongo morphs on WOBPs and an animal named "The Hitcher" popped up; this animal carries both the spark and bongo genes and looks like something between a superstripe and a gravel-spark. So naturally, out of curiosity, I start looking for photos of other bongo Ivory-complex crosses and managed to find a picture of a Cinnamon Orange Dream Bongo Yellowbelly produced by OzzyBoids. This animal also looks as though it is allelic, with similar striping and mottled pattern on the sides. I also found a Facebook post by Garrick DeMeyer showing a lock between a Bongo x Fire OD Yellowbelly, but I haven't been able to find the clutch results as of yet.
So my question is, has anyone here paired ivory-complex animals to a bongo before? And what were your results? Has anyone proven them to be allelic? Because that's kind of what it looks like to me...
Bongos are not part of the YB complex. The hitcher you saw can replicate itself even when put to a normal. Bongos are striped to an extent even as a single gene. But they Stripe and wack out the pattern of other genes they are put with.
