My amazingly PERFECT BP setups.

Ok, well they may not be perfect to the people who like their snakes to be highly visible and have lots of plants and waterfalls and stuff, but for my hatchling balls, I think I am doing it just right. Got my entire setup breakdown from "balls2u" on YouTube. He's awesome. ... I posted about the jumpstart thermostats the other day too, you can see them hooked up to each individual tub in the pics. They are fantastically accurate. Working great. ... but my bp's are responding amazingly well to their new setups. They were in 20 gallon glass longs and they just didn't want to eat and their behaviors changed. I can tell they are much happier now. Eating strong and my male butter had a perfect shed today. ... what do you guys think?

Once they are on a consistent feeding schedule, more established and more comfortable with their surroundings, I might add some decor. They're shy snakes that just wanna be safe in a dark tight spot right? So I'm not too concerned with something green in there right now just to please MY eye. A happy snake is a feeding snake, so that comes first and foremost st the moment.

The branches were suggested for the snakes not your visual pleasure tbh ... They do like tight spaces but surely they deserve more than a hide .
A few branches and some fake foliage from a pound/ dollar shop would fill up all that scary , empty space and give them something to climb around and over .

Actually, adding fake foliage and branches is more than just pleasing your eye- if you're concerned with shy young ones, adding some of that stuff provides even more security for them.

It's great that yours are eating already, but a couple of mine would actually think your tubs still have too much open space to feel secure. If the tubs are in a rack, that's a different story. But being open to a room, doesn't hurt to add more security!

Just make sure the temp under the paper towel right against the bottom of the tub over uth is 90 max due to fluctuations of on/off thermostats. Another reason I say 90 is bc heat transfer is really good through paper towel and while it may not be 90 on top of the paper towel as soon as your snake lays on it the temp will be hotter. Best way for me to explain that is if you put your hand over a hot pan on stove it feels hot and then if you press your hand on the pan it is much hotter, same applies for the snake laying on paper towel over uth. I would suggest are covering 3 sides of the tubs with black or other color construction paper so they feel more secure. I would also use reptile basics hides, they are very dark and secure so your snakes will have that sense of security, plus they are very easy to clean and come in many different sizes so they can have the same looking hide as they grow instead of adapting to a new one and they are really cheap lol. Your hides are fine though, just my personal preference but maybe something to keep in mind if you upgrade or get another snake.

I appreciate the input guys. I will consider putting some sort of foliage in their tubs, but I am pretty happy w what they have right now. ... the temps seem to be bang on. The temp on the paper towel never goes over 91 or below 88. A 3 degree variance is nothing to worry about right? The cool side stays right around 76, w really no variance at all. I keep my house pretty warm, just for the snakes, I don't mind it. The issue is the humidity. I need to actually LOWER it a little more. I guess I need to drill even more holes in the tub, even though there are already like 25. But it stays right around 70 percent. That's not going to hurt them I don't think, but I do wanna get it down to 60. I've tried a slightly smaller water bowl, with no change, so I'm guessing it's ventilation. Anyways, thanks again you guys for all your advice!

Looks good. Simple. If they're happy, that's all that counts.

I will add - those tops can sometimes be easy to separate in the middle of the long edges when you pull on them. They're probably too little now, but at some point they may be able to push up and try to sneak out.
