    I Know Ya'll Mean Well...

Yes. Ya'll. Kentucky has grown on me, ok?

Anyways, I know the majority of people mean well. I've been told to not post literally everything that happens to my snake, simply because the majority of the time people don't post about their mistakes when they make them. (And they do. Even experienced owners make mistakes.)

The thing is... it's good to post about mistakes, because it helps others see that mistakes do happen, and for those people who are searching it up, it helps them understand that they aren't the only ones who made this mistake.

It's very common on the internet for a pet owner to be demonized for their mistakes on the internet, because the internet is so full of experts, it's difficult to be normal.

It's not just snake handling. It's horses. It's dogs. It's cats. It's kids. The list is literally endless.

Here's another important thing to know:

If someone is arguing against what you say, thing is.... even if they disagree with you they still had to read it. So that information you gave them is sticking into their brain.

I work security at a hospital. Part of my training is understanding that just because people say "eff you" and argue with you, doesn't actually MEAN anything. Because sometimes, they'll argue and say "eff you" BUT THEY WILL STILL DO WHAT YOU ASKED....

Yea, that person, particularly if they are an incredibly prideful person (I know I am) will drag their heels in for show, and be as stubborn as a mule. But when nobody's looking will follow advice.

In saying this, I want to formally apologize to everyone I have wronged on this site. I meant no harm towards any of you. And I do apologize sincerely for lashing at you for simply showing concern for my little ball python.

Looking back, I do not regret joining this site, or asking the questions I did, but I do regret not being open minded and acting so childishly.

I'm not leaving. I do hope I can refresh my stay here with everyone.

    Thank you for your time
    ~Natalie

You are correct. Everyone does mean well here. We all just want what is best for your little guy. I think it is great that you have made this post. It shows character. I'm glad that you are not leaving. Just keep asking questions and learning how to better yourself and your knowledge to better take care of that sweet little snake you have. Wheatley has been through a lot lately and we all just want to see him not have to be in distress.

For the record I thought you were a dude. Lol.

Yes, everybody makes mistakes. If you're unsure of something, nothing wrong with asking for advice, but wait for the advice before you do what you're asking about.

You've definitely calmed down a bit, I think more so that you were making more enemies than friends. Anyways, I'm all about giving people second chances being I'm a correctional officer.

Good to hear. Maybe we can all get along now, that'd be fabulous. Everyone.... well, mostly everyone.... deserves a second chance.

I thought you seemed like a sweetheart, heart in the right place. I'm in your boat, my python knowledge is very little. I'm learning so much from this site and have picked up some good tips from your post.

Best way to learn has always been to learn from mistakes. Not just your own, but from the mistakes of others as well.

    Thank you.

This thread has been cleaned up and is now re-open

As a reminder if you have issues with the OP or any other members of this forum you can do either of the followings rather than make uncalled for remarks

    a/ Not answer

b/ Put someone on ignore if their post is such a nuisance to you

c/ Keep it up and be ready for consequences (I don't recommend that one)

"In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, in the expert's mind there are few."

Always try to maintain a beginner's mind, as being open to possibilities will lead to a more complete knowledge in the end. Even if you feel you are an expert and know what you are doing, there is always something to be learned.
