Brand new baby, heat question

About 2/3 is on the glass. The middle third is not touching.

To set the thermo so the top surface glass hits 90, means I'm setting the thermo for like, 100!! That makes me nervous incase there's a malfunction. Should I set the thermo that high?

Because of the suction cup, the probe on the hot side sits 1cm or so off the glass, so raising the thermostat scares me.

You normally have to set your thermostat hotter to get correct temperature.

Think about it...... If your thermostat fails it really wont matter what it was set at.
