Good idea!!
Does anyone ever have problems with sharp esges from making a DIY hide out of plastic bowls/saucers and stuff? I never tried it, because I was worried about this.

I worry about that too. Haven't made a hide, but I think using a lighter to melt the edges may help.

It doesn't appear like it, but I sanded the edges on mine. Also, I left it in there temporarily. After about 45 minutes I went back to check on him and he had shed and pooped. Cleaned it out and removed it. I could have left it as a nice hide but at that size it was too large in my opinion for his current set-up. If you decide to try it, use a cutting tool like a sharp knife (X-Acto), scissors will crack the plastic beyond where you want your cuts.

If there are sharp points in the plastic an emery board will smooth them out easily.
I've been known to select fast food restaurants and menu items when I eat out at lunch based upon the size or shape of the plastic container the food comes in. For instance, the container for Chick Fil-A salads and wraps doesn't need a "door" to be cut to become a hide due to its shape. Just wash it and use it.
