    Brand new baby, heat question

I am freaking out!!! I got my baby BEL today!!!! Eeeeee!!
The only problem is, the probe on the thermostat is thick, so it takes a big chunk of the heat pad off the bottom..... will that be a problem? Because she's in a 20 long, we just have one black Light ambient heat light on the center to keep the cold side warm enough and I'm hoping it will make up for any lost heat from the probe.
The heat mat is for a 10 to 20 gallon. It's a 20 long. But a big chunk of the center is off the glass from the probe. The thermostat reads 91 but her thermometer reads 77 so I put the lamp further over the hut. Maybe I will need a second for the cool side...
Does this sound like it will work? (Our adult is in a 40g breeder so she has a light above each side and a heat mat.
