Advice on raising humidity?
I got my baby BP about a week ago and all is going well. The humidity stays around 50%, but sometimes it will drop into the 40's on cold days when I leave the heat lamp on for a long time. Are there any suggestions to raise the humidity so it stays in 50-60%? I spray the cage every once and a while, too. Thanks!

Re: Advice on raising humidity?
Hey there! Congrats with your noodle. What I do to keep my humidity between 55-60 (I own a 20gal long glass enclosure w/ a screen top) is to cover about 2/3 of the screen with aluminum foil and leave the rest open for the heat lamp. I also just recently added some sphagnum moss and it works wonders. Good luck

Re: Advice on raising humidity?
I have a 10 gallon tank with a screen top, a 50 watt infared lamp and a UTH. The snake is just a regular ball python breed. I've tried covering the top with a cloth, but I think I'll try aluminum foil now.

The UTH is on a thermostat, right?
I would suggest getting a tub when your snake outgrows the tank. Add a UTH + thermostat for heat, and you will have no humidity issues.
Also what kind of hygrometer are you using to measure the humidity? A 50W bulb will dry out a 10-gal tank very fast.

I put a 2nd bigger of bowl of water in the tub to bump humidity when mine went into shed. You can see hints of condensation on the sides of the tub and top of the lid but the paper towels stay dry. Seems to work well for my snake.

We put a small humidifier next to our girls enclosure and keep her room door open a crack. In this fall weather it keeps her between 59 and 65.

I use two whole house humidifiers, one on each end of the house. It helps keep the humidity up for the herps, and it helps a lot with dry human skin, too.
