2 year old ball python weight

I just bought a 2 year old female ball python about 3 weeks ago and i was curious as to what she should weigh. she is 3 feet long and weighs 650 grams. i have been feeding her african soft fur rats that my friend breeds (not feeding them to her alive) since i got her but im thinking they might not be big enough if i want to put some weight on her. just wondering what everyone else thinks about her weight for a 2 year old female, thanks.

That seems a bit light to me. Typically you can breed a female after three years and they should be 1500 grams minimum to breed, looks like you're not even half way there.

ya thats what i thought, the previous owner was a breeder so they probably didnt feed her enough to keep her small but i want to get her up to a healthy weight. the soft furs im getting dont quite seem big enough. i want to order some rats online and from what ive been reading small rats would be a good size for her.

That's a little light but not concerning. How often do you feed her the asf? If you have a steady supply of them and she consistently eats them I'd just offer one a day or 2 earlier than you have been. Are the asf full grown? Those are their native rodent and plenty to get the big wild girls over 3000g eventually. Keep in mind as they get bigger they can gain more each month too. It's normal for them to decide to fast or slow down growing right around 1000g just to make you worry. One of my 2 year old girls was about 1000g at the beginning of the year and is 1800g now and she's a pain in the butt mouser that never wants more than 3 a week and I seldom can get big adult mice so really it's like she's gained that much on about 1 small rat a week.

It's on the small side but it happens, sometimes animals are just picky or not fed enough, what really matter is that she is healthy and look good proportion wise, for the rest if she is not picky she will catch up, if she is it might take longer.

I have a couple in the 500g range and some over 2000g.
They grow at different rates.

I just took in a 5 year old male who's about 550 grams. He's small and not as round as I'd prefer but far from starving, just been fed lightly and on mice.
