    Question Verifying my order

I haven't been needing one until now (ambient temp staying where it needed to be), but as the weather gets cooler and I open up windows, the temp drops. I just wanted to verify that these are a good combo to get (I do NOT have hundreds of dollars to spend). These are for a glass viv.

Yes the UTH and thermostat will work to create a basking spot for your ball python. A UTH will not increase the ambient temperature in the tank though.

    Thanks!

Yeah, with the UTH, I know I don't need to worry about ambient. Right now, I watch ambient because I haven't had a need for a UTH, because it hangs at 79-81, depending on the temp in my house. I have a ceramic bulb on thw other side, so I don't worry about temp there. Malfoy spends most of his time on the cooler side, so I don't want him getting too cold.

I had my windows open the other day, and it dropped to 73 on me. Closed the windows back up and started looking at the UTHs and thermostats.

It's actually the opposite. Like bcr said, you will still have to worry about the ambient, as a UTH will have little to no impact on the temperature of the enclosure as a whole.

So.....should I alsp look into getting a llwer wattage ceramic bulb and a dimmer since that side doesn't need to be as warm as the other side? There is going to be no way of warming the room.

The other option......go with just the bulb and not the UTH?

I would use a CHE to bump up the ambient. I would also have a solid top made to keep the humidity in the tank.

I already have the screen top mostly covered to keep more humidity in. The only opening is where my current CHE is.
