My male albino took forever to convert fully to rats... needing to scent heavily with dirty mouse substrate every time. He also did a weird 3 month fast last winter.
My BEL switched to rats without looking back, and didn't miss a single meal with me since I picked him out of the shipment box as a hatchling, so no fasting over winter. Hope yours is like this too.
