Unknown ball pythons sold as dinkers from a local breeder

Nothing remotely close to fire, those days everything is a dinker , I guess it help sell the normal that do not. A dinker that will prove is like a needle in a haystack.

Normal are VERY variable from busy to reduced, with flames, no flames, brighter head, darker head, busy belly pattern, clean belly pattern, blushing, blushing, light, dark........

That one is nothing special I would want to spend time on.

My best guess is that if he actually had an animal that he thought might produce a new and interesting morph, he'd keep it and breed it himself. I doubt he'd sell it for a price within reach of most people. His having multiple "dinkers" is also a red flag.

I think the real power of a 'dinker' is the possibility of a recessive mutation that is new and breathtaking, that's where you can make some big money and a name for yourself. I'd breed those out and then breed the babies together to see if you can tease out any recessive morphs. That's basically how it all started. I'm not quite sure how we got so many co-dominant and dominant morphs, we surely didn't get them that way as imports? Maybe just a freak co-dom popping out from a couple of mormal looking dinkers? There's also the possibility that you have a 'hidden' enhancing gene that won't really pop until you breed it to other morphs. Take a look at the Specter and Yellowbelly, both are pretty normal looking snakes until you combine them and get an allelic combo that really pops (a Super stripe).

Some folks like dinkers. Nothing wrong with that and we've all had snakes that photo as "completely 100% normal" even when they are a proven established morph too.

If you like the snake, then breed that dinker and see what it holds.

My opinion on the ones posted in this thread is that all are well within normal standards. I don't see much to say "dinker" or "potential morph" honestly. But good luck! Let us know when you've got some eggs too. Dinkers can be exciting.

Thank you i prefer buying dinkers because they are so random wether they prove or not. 90 percent of my snakes are actually WC or CH dinkers that were imported from benin or ghana. I have a few proven cinnamon, queen bee, Ghost (not the wild caught one i have , so as for a red flag i think not i just like my odds of proven a dinker much higher. My interest is not to make profit or anything of a such its my lovely snakes and love em all. P.s. might not breed until a while since im not ready to hanfdle the workload and responsibility. The girl who sold me the ball pythons had to get rid of them because she was moving. Its her word against nature.
