ball python soaking for 6 days

I have a juvenile ball python and it has been soaking in its water bowl for about 6 days. The eyes look slightly cloudy (they were more cloudy a few days ago) but the skin shows no signs that it will shed soon.

I have checked its body, water bowl, and aquarium for mites and I have not seen a single one. Any help is appreciated.

(also, I have not fed it for almost 2 weeks...it went into its water bowl right around its feeding time. Is this ok?)

maybe they are going into a shed. roswell never really looks like he his shedding, but after he does it's like wow! i can see the difirence. a snakes eyes get cloudy then clear up when they are going through a shed. roo likes to hang out in the water dish, or the most humid part of the aquarium when she goes into sheds. she has had flakey sheds, so i think she wants to fix that problem herself by hanging out in the water dish.

Hm, was there any rise in the temperature of the enclosure, or the room around it? Sometimes they go into water to cool off.
But it is odd that the snake is staying in one spot for so long, whether in the water or not. My Bps always come out at night and roam around their cages. I would be tempted to pick the snake up and examine it for anything weird going on.
What hides do you use; has your snake enjoyed them thus far?

Agree with gin - get a Digi Thermometer and check your temps - refuge in water like that is a good indicator (in the absence of anything else) that the enclosure may just be too hot or too dry.
