If someone produces something like a Sunset and sells a bunch of them I think the price could drop pretty fast since people will compete with getting to market with their snakes. If they sell a few het at first that would tend to slow down breeders since they may want to keep the first of their sunset to breed back, slowing down competition to market. Perhaps that's why there are so many 'secret' projects, they want to establish a supply before they sell and can pretty much corner the market.

It's a recessive gene. It takes far more time to reproduce. Domimant type morphs can rapid breed males and keep reproducing them and be able to identify them. Recessive have to have a het female up to size to even have a shot at reproducing them. Far more time, much more uncertainty (pos hets), and only a 1 in 4 shot with het x het breedings.
