What is the weight of the snake your putting in the T8? Depending on its size you may need a divider for the T8 and a 40w rhp and then when its big enough you can remove divider and switch the 40w with an 80w.

VE-200 is a good choice, I have a few of them and some ve-300 and I love them all. You can't go wrong with ve or Herpstat IMO. There is 2 models of the 200, the ve-200 and ve-200d they are both proportional so will maintain steady temp. The ve-200 is pulse proportional and can be used with any non light emitting heat source so rhp, flexwatt, uth, che are all ok to use with it. The ve-200d is dimming proportional and can be use with light emitting and non light emitting heat sources. If you think you will use a light as s heat source at some point or just in case you do get the 200d if not the 200.

I've compared the ve-200, ve-200d, and ve-300 to the Herpstat and they are just as accurate. VE and Herpstat are both good choices and will keep your temp you set within a couple of tenths of a degree, sometimes you will see it go 1 degree higher or lower but not often.

Yes I was planing on the ve-200 I did some research and everone has their own opinion but overall it has good reviews and I would love to be able to keep just the rhp for light I had them install the fluorescence lights in it

I do not currently have scales (would love to get some) but he is about 20in long he's about 4 to 5 months old (not that age matters) but he is a freaking pig lol but I currently have him in a 4 ft long cage that I build from wood with screen top and it sucks at holding humidity so I went ahead and got the t8 he loves all the room

It's a good choice! I would also pick up some reptile basics hides, they are dark and secure and thin so the rhp heat will penetrate it well. Being that he is only 4 months old medium would probably be good.

If he was already in a 4ft cage he should be fine.

They take about 4 weeks even though there quick ship. Just imagine what the non quick items take. Also if you want scales you can just by s kitchen scale at Walmart for $15-$20.

I think the fkexwatt they send you is just a 24" x 12" piece so it wouldn't be enough for a whole rack but a level or 2 depending on rack size.

I know that Herptsat and Vivarium Electronics supposedly make the best thermostats but I've been regulating my heat sources with Hydrofarm thermostats for years with no issues. They're inexpensive but they've been very reliable in my experience.
