Sorry but really no one is going to be able to give you anything better than a wild guess. I've had yearlings that are twice the size of thier cohorts.

Young, looks under six months to me. But it's a guess at best.

Re: How old is this boa?
Yeah, that's what I thought... I guess I'll just pretend she is around 8 months old

oh ok! This is good feedback! I know they are just guesses but I'll take it! I really thought she looked big for 8 months, so I'm glad to see you disagree!

Well, since we now know the seller didn't produce this snake, it's near impossible to tell you the age. Assuming she's been on a proper feeding regimen, I reckon she's somewhere in the 2015/2016 range of things.

From what I found comparing with other young boas online, this one looks quite big for even 8 months which is the oldest she should be (since she was born this year).
Any thoughts?
Thanks so much!

Am I reading this correctly? The seller told you it "hatched" this year?
I hope those were not the exact words of the person who sold you that animal. Boas are born live and not from an egg.
It is a nice looking snake, actually very pretty, yet it is impossible to tell the age. Feeding and husbandry are the biggest factors in a boa's growth. The person who had it in possession prior to your pickup may have been feeding light to save money and little mice or rats on their end which isn't bad as boas are typically overfed and most breeders tend feed to animals they will be selling or shipping on the light side.. The boa could be from small parents or have some genetics from smaller boas in it's lineage. There unfortunately, is not a concrete answer here.
If you were told this is a "common" boa, I'd guess it is under a year to a year old.
Please clarify that you were not really told this snake "hatched".
That seller is questionable if you were really told that.
