    Just showing off

Decided to take a couple pics of our Male BP. He shed last week and it was nice outside so I let him out to roam. Needless to say we are getting excited as his first breeding season is quickly approaching. I will add pics of the lucky ladies soon. They are both in blue atm.

The sun was a little bright and washed his color out. I tried to edit to show his true color but I have no clue what I am doing. Needless to say they do not do him justice. He has peach color in his markings I have never seen before and is truly stunning in person.

Oh and here are a couple of two of our three new additions, not Bp's but they were out and looking for attention.

1.0 Albino Black Pastel Pinstripe BP "Menolo"
    0.1 Albino Spider BP "Ginger"

Yes, Jasmine is currently 1500 grams (approx) full. Ginger is a little smaller at 1200 grams full but she has been a mouser for the last 1.5 years and is the oldest of the three. She has great body weight, she is just shorter in length than Jasmine. Now that she has been on rats for the last 2 monts (thank god) she is packing the pounds on quickly. Our plan is to place Menolo and Jasmine together in mid October then move him to Ginger afterward. By then Jasmine should be close to 1800g and ginger (with the added couple weeks) should be close to 1500g.

We obviously don't have high hopes for large clutches as these girls are on the small end and it is everyone's first season but we do have some high hopes for offspring quality. We are shooting for:

    Albino blackbee
    Albino spinner
    Albino black pastel

    Super black pastel
    Blizzard (albino super black pastel)

We are aware of the risks associated with the spider gene as well as the super black pastels. We have friends already lined up who will gladly take any "pet quality" offspring should we get any with small kinks or excessive derpy behavior. I am also planning to build a very nice incubator using a refridgerator, radient heat panels and a quality thermostat. I am planning on incubating on the lower end (87ish) in hopes slower development may reduce defects in the supers. I know there is no documented proof that this will help (to my knowledge) but it can't hurt other than lengthening incubation time a little.

    solid plans!

i just picked up two hatchling Black Pastel het Pied, het Albino with ringers and irregular patterns so here's hoping to get Blizzards (and Super Black Pastel Pieds) in the future. i also have a White Magic (Albino Mojave Black Pastel) to work with. i've been considering the project since i got BP's and just took the dive. i'm ready for the heart break and ultimately, the rewards.

    good luck!

Sounds awesome! We really fell into this breeding thing by accident. We started off with Ginger who is my 8 year old daughter's pet. My 10 year old wanted a bearded dragon but after seeing how chill the snake was she wanted one too. Then she asked if we got a boy could we breed them. I of course said sure. I sat down with both of them and gave them a short lesson in genetics the turned them loos on the calculator and Google to see what they wanted to try to create. Now here we are. Not sure where this will lead but anything will be a blessing at this point.

Ginger shed today. It was a little too hot out so we did not spend too much time outside. At least we go 1 descent picture.
