New chondro... 2007 female Aru, named Gem!

Gem, my new girl! She’s a 2007 Aru who was egg bound and had to go through surgery to remove an oviduct, so could no longer breed and could only find a pet/display home. So here she is with me, and I’m SO ELATED THAT I HAVE HER!!! She is a gem.

She is also larger than I anticipated. I got her in shipment with a couple pieces of shed still stuck on her nose too, but that will come off in time.
She is wonderful wonderful wonderful and beautiful and wonderful. I can’t wait to see how she is in a couple weeks time, and also when night comes. LOL

Taken with a Nikon... Honestly, the camera brings out some tones and colors that don't look anything like it does to the naked eye. I'm going to try with my Canon next, and see what those look like! The two cameras make quite a big difference.

I've wanted either an ETB or GTP for so long already, and it finally happened. Only a matter of time before I get tagged, and I'll be sure to take photos of the bloody aftermath. LOL

I already changed my avatar and signature. I'm very excited about her!!!

Congratulations on finally getting one and a real beauty at that! I highly recommend fill spectrum led lighting. Not that she needs it but you will appreciate it because you will see all of her colors.

Anyhow, as for getting bitten. Don't put your hand in there at night and you should be ok. In my experience GTP'S are pretty predictable and are clear in their intentions. Give her some time to adjust and I am sure she will settle in nicely.

Thanks! She has LED lighting built in her cage from pvccages, but not sure if it's full spectrum or not (I suspect it isn't, since her colors are more faded in there).

That's what I keep hearing, so I'll definitely avoid messing with her at night LOL. I do want to take her out occasionally for photos later on, so I feel that it's only a matter of time when she just doesn't want to be messed with one day... hahah

I took mine outside about once a month when weather permitted and let her bask on a tree in natural sunlight. She seemed to enjoy it.

Wow, absolutely stunning gtp! Those eyes are wicked! Congrats!

I've wanted one on display in my living room ever since I saw a little banana colored baby for the first time at the NARBC. Which.. that is coming up soon..

New photo taken with my old school canon. I think I like this camera on her better! Cameras make things so different.
