Ball python looks very red halfway through shedding! Very worried!
I was holding my ball python, and he started to rub against me as he ran through my hands and he began to shed. I took a wet faceclothe and wrapped it gently around him and though I would hold him with the faceclothe and help him shed. About halfway through I thought I would look and see his progress and saw that his lower half of his body was looking a light red or pink, and that his scales seemed to be slightly raised, unlike his other scales. Will he be okay? Should I be concerned? I am wondering if maybe I was just 'helping' along a shed that was not ready.

I attached an album that shows how his scales look. They only look like this on the lower half of his body.

Update
Its been about 19 minutes; scales are no longer raised, they are now flat as usually, still slightly pink.

Well, this may not be right, since I've never actually seen a snake in the process of shedding, but I would imagine there are some weird things that happen during the shed. If he doesn't go back to normal after a reasonable amount of time, then I'd be concerned.

I had a boa that an IDIOT snakesitting for me did 'help' shed way too early that was swollen in the same way but MUCH worse when I got home. If hes still looking ify rub some neosporin on it each day and it should clear up. I raised my boa's humidity as well but unless you run a fungus preventative that might be a little iffy given its an open wound and on the belly where scale rot typically attacks. On a side note it took my boa about 2 sheds before he started looking normal again, and he was REALLY jacked up from it to the point of loosing scales so the white underneath was visible.

Was any redness there before the shed?
Sometimes the shedding process raises the scales a bit.
A basic rundown of your setup is always helpful when trying to troubleshoot an issue.
