Yeah, that sounds way too big for him. He probably doesn't feel secure. I have my 1 month old in a 6qt hatchling tub with hides and she does fine. You can use a 6qt hatching tub up until they weigh 200g, which usually doesn't happen for several months. Do you know his weight?
