    Wound or shed??

This scab looking thing has been on the top of my ball pythons head for the last few days. I am thinking it has something to do with coming into a shed but if I'm wrong, I just want to make sure he's okay.
This will be my first experience with all the steps of the shedding process and I believe all 3 of my snakes are in shedding right now but I could be wrong. My spotted is really all grey with a bluish tint and his whole body is really smooth and soft. My other two almost seem to have dry skin. Because I believe they're in shed I've been trying to keep the humidity up to about 70

Usually when they go into shed the first thing you might see is the belly gets kind of pinkish, then they might get dull or dark looking then the eyes go blue. If he is going into shed wait til he is done then see what the scab piece looks like. What do you heat with? Can he touch the heat source at all?

It's not really clear but above the right eye just looks like an eye cap stuck on.

The part of the outer skin that covers the eye. It normally comes off with the rest of the shed.

Eye caps are a layer of skin that covers the eye. It protects the eyes from different things, as snakes do not have eyelids like humans do, an "eye cap" replaces an actual eyelid. Every time a snake sheds this piece should be coming off too. That is if it was a good shed. If your snake/snakes are shedding in full pieces and not too many broken up ones, they're shedding as they should be, but if its broken pieces it means the humidity is too low. Anytime your snake sheds you need to be checking to see if the old eyecap came off. If it didn't, just leave it alone or try letting your snake run itself through some lukewarm water and a washcloth, and it should come off by itself. The last time my BP shed, it was superb but towards the back of her cheek bones there was just a little stuck, within the rest of the week she was able to get it off herself. Also, during the time the snake isn't shedding, make sure to check for dents within the eyecaps, this typically indicates that the humidity is too low and that you need to raise it.

I just got him about 3 weeks ago and so far there is no shed. If this is an eye cap, could it be from the begining of the shed? I try to keep the humidity around 50 but since I noticed this on his eye and the duller looking scales, Im trying to keep it around 70% but I lose humidity fast

If it is a stuck eye cap it would be from a bad shed before you got the animal. Keep the humidity up and it should come off during the next shed.
