    How's my setup?

I purchased the enclosure and snake not long ago. It houses my 2 year male Darwin carpet python named Seth, his around 1-1.2 metres long (3.5-4 feet).
The enclosure is 2x4x2. It uses a ceramic heat emitter plugged into a thermofilm basic thermostat for the heat and has a edison fitting bulb for light. I have two thermometers setup, one in the hide at the top left (reading floor temperature of hide) and one where the thermostat probe is (as you can see middle right of enclosure dangling). Daytime temperatures of the ambient temperature where the probe is stays at around 29-32 degrees Celsius the hide thermostat usually reads between 30-34 degrees. Night time temperatures for probe thermostat around 23-28 (depending on how cold of a night it is) and hide temperAture 27-30. Btw I keep heat on at night and just turn off light. The reason I don't use a heat mat in hide is because it is always a few degrees warmer in there anyway and because I don't have another thermostat as of yet when I turn it on on even the lowest heat it makes the ground temperature in hide 38 degrees plus. Any suggestions, improvement or anything I am open to wellcomly.

I think the snake and enclosure both look great. I really like the hides and the hammock.

    NICE.

I was thrown off a bit because it is sideways in the picture.

Very creative and well thought out.

I think your snake is very pretty as well.

    How's my setup?

Very beautiful carpet, I love his colors. I think it is interesting that here in the US we make enclosures that are more horizontal instead of vertical. The most common for us is a 4x2x2 enclosure for a carpet, however I have noticed that most Australian set ups are vertical. Either one seems to work good just preference I suppose. Your set up looks good to me. The only thing I noticed is that your daytime temps seems a little higher than where I keep mine. The difference is my setup maintains the same temps day and night. I used a radiant heat panel and keep the ambient at 80-84F (26-29C) with a basking spot at around 93F (34C). My humidity is always in the 40-60% range also. Your carpet appears to be very healthy so I would say you setup works great also. I wouldn't use a heat mat along with it like you had mentioned adding. I do not believe there is any reason to do so. The only other thing I noticed is that there is a lot of tape inside the enclosure. I was always told that is a bad idea because of the possibility of it coming off or being removed by the snake and them getting seriously injured.

Thanks for the feedback, I have since changes it a bit adding a substrate and getting rid of any tape, thanks! Here's a pic.

Totally off topic but I am SO confused!
When I see the photo out of the thread, I see that messenger bubble..
But then I go to the photo and it isn't there?!??
    Am I going crazy...

Cute little snake by the way! 😊
Crawling back into the reptile scene once more!
