First clutch . Few questions
So yester I left for work around 9am and checked the snakes before I left. All was good. When I checked them again that night around 10pm I found my first clutch of 8 good looking eggs. My concern was she was only coiled around 2 and the other 6 were somewhat scattered . This is also a first clutch for the female . I set up the incubator at 89 right away and got them in about an hour later . So hypothetically the 6 eggs could of been left with next to no heat ( on the cool side ) for around 12 hours . Most likely less , but my question is has anyone had this and were the eggs okay? I candled them and they all had bright red veins . And I temp gunned them and the 2 she had covered were 83 degrees and the other 6 were around 75 :/. Thanks for any answers .

Sometimes first time moms will do this just out of inexperience. Other times the female knows something about the eggs that even though they look perfectly fine they know by smell or instinct that its a failure. Set them up and keep an eye on them.

Re: First clutch . Few questions
The eggs all seem too be doing good but Ill check again for veins next week . One other thing I was wondering iv seen mixed answers on is opening the egg box . Do you open it every few days for air and to check them or is it best to just always leave it closed so there's no temp fluctuation . I've opened it once to wipe condensation off the lid and It dropped 1.5 degrees but went back up to 89 pretty quick . I assume it should be left alone as much as possible tho .

Re: First clutch . Few questions
the males were a banana and a citrus puma and the female was a bumblebee.
They are all out now and 6 of 8 have shed. Ill try post pics soon.
looks like the puma is the sire as there are 2 super pastel looking babys and no bananas,
which leads me to my next post.. i may need the help of someone who's good at identifing yellow belly
and spark mixes..
