    Maybe you could try using the corrugated cardboard , for my larger snakes I use the single wall type stuff and it works a treat.

    That being said if the snake is determined enough nothing will stop its instincts to 'bury' itself.

    I'd tend to agree with Zig in the suggestion of turning that stat down a few notches.
