Is my BP at risk of being prey?

So I plan to someday take my female BP out to enjoy some sunlight and fresh air. This may be a dumb question, but there is a lot of raptor activity around where I live, (Hawks, falcons, vultures) and I just wanted to know if she's at risk of being snatched by one of these birds if I just let her slither close to me. I know that birds of prey can be very bold, and snatch pets right in front of their owners.

I agree with the others. Especially if there is known raptor activity around you, I would reconsider taking the snake outdoors. Birds of prey can come out of nowhere and can do it very quickly.

Not only do you need to worry about birds, but how about parasites and such? I spend a lot of time and effort making sure mine are totally free and clean of anything that is not supposed to be there. I am not going to let them crawl around outside then bring them back in to possibly contaminate my entire collection.

If it is a personal collection the risk is contained. If you are selling animals to others it is an unacceptable risk in my opinion. My babies are in a room where there are only animals that have been in my care for a year or longer. I wash down before I go in there like I am going into surgery. The thought of giving someone else mites or god forbid, something worse gives me chills.

Yes. There are raptors where I live also, in fact I can see a nest from my back yard.

When I have the smaller snakes out, if they are in the grass I stand so that I'm straddling them, and if they are in the "snake tree" I stay close enough to keep a hand on them.

You make a good point, for the most part I think it's people with personal collections that want to take their snakes outside.
