I'm pretty sure you mean the opposite. If you mean it like it says, it's a pretty straight forward thing to say - "I'd pair a Clown to a Normal and not be surprised to hatch hets." That's pretty much how it works all of the time.

They were trying to say that it was a Het Clown, meaning that it resembles ones that they have seen. No harm, no foul. I'm ok with it.

- ...you're not surprised if visual clowns did pop out, or
- ...you're surprised if visual clowns did not pop out.
You did not write either of those two things. You wrote:
- ...you would not surprised if visual clowns did not pop out.
Which means you would be surprised if visual clowns did pop out.
I am glad I went through that analysis. I learned the following:
- I was not confused by the intention of your post,
- I do understand double negatives, and
- I do not need simple wording to explain basic sentence structure.
