    I use tiny, very sharp sewing scissors that I clean with mild dish soap and then disinfect with F10.

    Pinch the top of the egg between your fingers, keep the scissors horizontal, and just make a small snip across the top about half an inch long. I don't like to let the scissors enter the egg.
