First successful feeding
Leo had his first successful meal! Hasn't eaten in 2 and a half weeks due to shipping and wouldn't dare look at a f/t for me. Picked up a live this evening and dropped him in, but Leo looked scared of him. I've read about shy ball pythons eating so I left the tank and watched my movie and in 2 mins flat I hear the sound of success! Just wanted to share cuz I'm a proud papa haha.

I advise you to supervise all live feedings until the rodent is dead. It's not a regular occurrence, but rats and mice can seriously injure a BP.

Trust me, I know. I dropped him in to monitor but Leo was acting scared. I sat on the couch across from the cage to give him some privacy and was only going to give him 5 minutes with him, but he struck in 2 with no problems. As soon as I heard it I went over to the tub to make sure he was dead and left him be to feast. Thanks for the advice though!

Great
Great! I got my first BP a few weeks ago, so far he hasn't ate, checked the temp and humidity and all is well, I guess he just needs a lil time to settle in. Was gonna try feeding him last Friday but noticed he was about to shed so I've left it another week. Hopefully he'll eat this week, will give him some privacy as well to see if that works. Did you feed him in a separate feeding tub or his main enclosure?

Nice! Yea, give him time and he will. Like everyone says, they'll eat when they want lol. I keep him in his enclosure when I feed him, I'm not really buying into the whole "it'll mistake you for food if you feed him in the enclosure" argument. And yea, if he won't eat for you, try turning off all the lights and leaving the rodent in. If it's live though, just go far enough where he won't see you but you can still monitor to make sure things go well. Good luck!
