If I placed a 150W CHE attached to a lamp dome (regulated by a thermostat) on the mesh lid of an Exo Terra Terrarium, would the lid melt? Do I need a bracket/stand?

Even if it was metal it is not recommended to place it on the top of the screen if you do that and your BP climbs up it could burn itself depending on the temps at that very spot which will be hotter than the hot spot a few inches down.
