What I do is take each baby out of the incubator as it emerges and put it in a shoe box tub in the rack with wet paper towels. I usually check the egg box twice per day while hatching. Most babies will emerge fully at night when it has been dark and quiet for hours at a time. Sometimes I will put them all in one tub adding them as they emerge and sometimes I will put them in their individual tubs straight out of the egg. I would not leave a baby out of the egg in the incubator on top of egg crate for any amount of time though, it is kind of sharp on their soft new scales. Some people who still do not use egg crate will leave them in the incubator egg box until after they shed. You do not want them to come out before absorbing all of the yolk or with the yolk still attached so try to not disturb them too much. They will be out this week and then you will have to wait for them to shed, and then wait for them to eat for the first time. Seems like there is a lot of hurry up and wait to this hobby.![]()
