    Rat pricing? Help

The pet store that I go to charges me $11 for just 1 small and 1 medium rat. I feel like this price is pretty high for what I'm getting. How much do you guys pay for rats?

    Re: Rat pricing? Help

I dont pay for my rats anymore, unless its for food and bedding lol. I breed my own rats. But when i used to get them at petco, they charged about $6-7 at first for a medium rat, then almost ten, now they dont sell them anymore but they still sell adult mice for about $4 i think. Hope this helps

All my snakes are on f/t, except 1 that at the moment only takes live. I believe i pay around $10 for a small rat but not for long as i am trying to get her onto p/k and then f/t. I know alot of places that sell rats for way cheaper than $10, i just came across a place that sells mediums for $2 but unfortunetly they are way too far from me. My advice is to do more research on where you can find them cheaper cause paying $11 for 1 rat every week is way too much, thats why very soon i will hopefully no longer being doing the same.

Are you feeding live or frozen?

Around here you would be about $4 for a small and medium.
I breed and sell my own.

I feed live but for my 3 the lives are
    1.50 for a rat pup
    3.00 for a small
    5.00 for a medium
6.50 for a large (I'll feed my girl a large about every 2 months or so and take her off for 2 weeks)

Yeesh. Wish I had access to where you people buy rodents - I pay $5 each for small mice, let alone rats, when I have to buy them.
