I've Got a Fever....
and The only prescription is more snakes. Some of you may know I recently got a bci and Ive had him for a month or so now. I'm considering within the next few months (or hours) getting a larger snake. There is something about the larger snakes that is almost addicting. Don't get me wrong, I love bps and though I only have one, there's something about them that doesn't intrigue me like the larger pythons and boas. Anyways, I am trying to decide between a retic , a blood python, or maybe another boa for my third snake. I have to say, the sunglow boas are in my opinion beautiful and their colors are extremely attractive. Maybe another boa would satisfy my addiction.
Some of you may also know I had a blood pass away not too long ago for unknown reasons. I am not discouraged as a keeper at all, but there is something about the Bloods that will always fascinate me. I'm sure you guys who keep/breed bloods know the same feeling.
Now retics....I have been researching on/off for the past year and even considered them as my first snake (glad I didn't do that) but I feel I am at that stage where I can provide proper husbandry, costs, and care for a potentially very large animal.
It's a hard decision for me. I don't know why, but it is. This would potentially be my third snake and I'm hoping some people with experience can chime in on what might be the best option.
You guys are great and every time I have posted a thread, I have been very happy with the answers I have received.
P.s. sorry for the paragraphs.

You are within a fairly easy drive of me if you want to handle a retic before you get one.

I just gave away three jumbo male rats to the pet store because they don't fit in my operation, too big for even adult ball pythons. I'm sure if you advertise you can get all kinds of food items for free (rats / rabbits / chickens / etc..) I've considered getting a big snake like that for my retired breeder rats. Not much of a market for them here in Colorado, everyone wants small to medium rats.
