Please don't knock any live animal against the wall. Pre-killing is an option but it must be done correctly. Cervical dislocation is the most common method and is considered humane.

Actually the only killing method that is considered humane is by co2. I think this is according to the American Veterninary Association. But if you don't have the things to make a co2 chamber and can't get it before feeding time then I would say Cervical dislocation would be the next best option even though I still disagree with it. Just make sure it is done quickly and painlessly.
