    This is just an assumption, but Im pretty sure she talked them from "no snakes" to "one snake". thats a compromise for a group of girls who are afraid of or just dont like snakes. And it seems like OP accepted that compromise, but now this unplanned situation has come up. The roommates probably think this is just a plan to bring more animals home than agreed to. Thats how people who live with others who rescue animals have to think.

    Again, not saying this is the case, or that the OP is a hoarder or anything, its just me trying to see the situation from both ends. If these were the terms everyone agreed to, it would be wrong to just say screw it, i'll do what i want.
