Baby Retic Yawning A lot....

Hi all. I have a young kalatoa/jampea cross albino female about 8 mths old. She pushes some but not so much that she hurts her nose. She eats good and her temps are 89/78. It seems everytime I open her tub she yawns several times in a row. If I close her tub and then open it again, she yawns again (of course this is after she figures out that I'm not feeding her). Her mouth looks good, no extra mucus, redness or swelling so I'm at a loss as to why she keeps yawning. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

Could be minor signs of aggression? Listen for clicking could be signs of an RI before you see visual mucus / bubbles. Does she do it when shes out of the tub? Hows your humidity? What kind of substrate are you using?

I don't think it's aggression. She will smell around for food for a minute then yawn and relax. She doesn't do it much outside of the tub, occasionally like any other snake. Her humidity could be better I admit, it's around 50%. And she is on paper towels. I checked on her again tonight and same thing, sniffed around for food then yawned. I'm baffled.... 😕

She getting ready to shed maybe? I know my boas all yawn when they are getting ready to shed. It helps loosen the skin around their head.
